Abstract
Results of the triode electron gun which delivers 500 mA current pulses of 2 mu s duration at an energy of 40 keV are presented. This new gun uses LaB 6 cathode as emitter indirectly heated by a tungsten filament, a focusing e lectrode, non-intercepting modulating anode and anode. Various improvements and additions carried out to the earlier gun which delivered only 120 mA c urrent pulses is described. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reser ved.
