The experimental results from the in situ NMR studies (Bhatia et al., J. Ca
tal. 147 (1994) 455) of hydrogen adsorbed on supported Ru particles, have b
een interpreted in terms of the pressure-dependent spin-lattice relaxation
time T-1 and the Korringa relation. Both the existence of the two proton NM
R peaks at pressure greater than 100 Torr and their shifts with pressure up
to 760 Torr have been explained qualitatively. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B
