Av. Kavokin et al., Inhomogeneous broadening of excitons in thin films of GaN: Effect on the time-resolved transmission spectra, PHYS ST S-B, 216(1), 1999, pp. 31-34
Combining the scattering state approach with a semi-classical model of the
exciton inhomogeneous broadening we have modelled the time-resolved transmi
ssion spectra of GaN slabs properly taking into account the exciton-polarit
on effect. The decay rate of time-resolved transmission is found to decreas
e strongly with increase of the thickness of the slab in case of the inhomo
geneous broadening. This is not the case if only a homogeneous mechanism of
the exciton broadening is taken into account.
