The application of psychometric concepts of accuracy, reliability, and vali dity to the evaluation of self-monitoring as an assessment procedure is des cribed. Examples from the literature are used to illustrate both the proced ural application of these concepts and their importance in ensuring the uti lity of self-monitored data for a variety of purposes. Common threats to ac curacy, reliability, and validity are briefly discussed.
