C. Nesaraja et al., Excitation functions of neutron induced reactions on some isotopes of zinc, gallium and germanium in the energy range of 6.2 to 12.4 MeV, RADIOCH ACT, 86(1-2), 1999, pp. 1-9
Excitation functions were measured for Ge-70(n,p)Ga-70, Ge-73(n,p)Ga-73, Ge
-74(n,p)Ga-74g, Ga-71(n,p)Zn-71m, Ga-71(n,2n)Ga-70, Zn-67(n,p)(CU)-C-67 and
Zn-68(n,alpha)Ni-65 reactions in the neutron energy range of 6.2 to 12.4 M
eV. Quasimonoenergetic neutrons in this energy range were produced via the
D-D reaction on a D-2 gas target at the Julich compact cyclotron (CV 28). U
se was made of the activation technique in combination with high resolution
HPGe-detector gamma-ray spectrometry. In a few cases, radiochemical separa
tions and low-level beta(-) counting were applied. For most of the reaction
s, our measurements provide the first consistent sets of data near their th
resholds. Nuclear model calculations using the code STAPRE, which employs t
he Hauser-Feshbach (statistical model) and exciton-model (precompound effec
ts) formalisms, were undertaken to describe the excitation functions of all
the investigated reactions. In most cases, the calculated values agree fai
rly well with the experimental results.
