A single dye luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) has been prepared using o
xazine 750 dye and PMMA, dissolved in benzene. The solar simulation of the
LSC has been performed at four different positions using an X-Y tracker. Th
e hourly output power and global solar radiation has also been measured for
a full year from April 1995 to March 1996, considering day 21 as a referen
ce day. The output power curves were studied for each month separately and
averaged through four seasons, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Spring. The opti
cal efficiency was also calculated and discussed.
To test the field performance expectations for the LSC used, nonlinear corr
elations between horizontal data and some other positions have been also ca
rried out and discussed. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved
