Abstract
Bicymantrenyl, (CO)(3)MnC5H4C5H4Mn(CO)(3), can be mercurated under the acti on of 8 moles of mercury trifluoroacetate in CH2Cl2 to give an octamercuric derivative. Mono- and diphosphine derivatives of bicymantrenyl react with mercury trifluoroacetate and with tin tetrachloride to give adducts at one or two manganese atoms.
