Abstract
A semiclassical model proposed recently to describe the exciton inhomogeneo us broadening effect on the optical properties of quantum wells predicts a discontinuity in the dependence of the integrated excitonic absorption in a quantum well on the homogeneous broadening gamma at gamma = 0. Here we sug gest a more accurate analysis which eliminates this discontinuity.
