Abstract
The specific features of melting of the nascent powders of ultra-high-molec ular-mass polyethylene synthesized with various catalytic systems were stud ied by differential scanning calorimetry. A correlation between the paramet ers of the melting peak and the supermolecular structure of the polymer was established: the samples containing fibrillar structures showed the maximu m fusion heat and melting temperature, whereas the nascent powders with a l amellar morphology were characterized by the minimum degree of crystallinit y and melting temperature.
