The methods of sedimentation-diffusion analysis and viscometry were applied
to study six generations of hybrid lactopoly(amidoamine) dendrimers. The s
edimentation coefficients in the range(0.65-6.2) x 10(-13) s and the diffus
ion coefficients in the range (19.1-4.9) x 10(-7) cm(2)/s were determined.
The molecular masses calculated from these data fall in the range (2.5-93)
x 10(3). The intrinsic viscosity is small and varies weakly in going from o
ne generation to another. The high-rate sedimentation coefficient is the mo
st sensitive to variation of the molecular mass of dendrimers. The hydrodyn
amic size of the lactodendrimers studied was compared to that of lactodendr
imers prepared on the basis of poly(propylene imine) dendrimers.
