Abstract
Dissociation constants of a series of substituted phenols and their tetrabu tylammonium salts were determined in tetrahydrofuran by potentiometric and conductometric methods. The resolution of acid strength in this solvent was compared with those obtained in other amphiprotic and aprotic solvents. Th e resolution of acid strength of phenols and benzoic acids in tetrahydrofur an was higher than in water, and better than that in any of the other solve nts considered.
