Abstract
X-ray variability in high energy peaked BL Lac objects (HBLs) is characteri zed by a correlation between flux and index and by soft lag. It is shown th at these properties can quantitatively be expressed by Fermi acceleration a nd synchrotron cooling model and physical parameters in accelerating and de celerating regions are derived by fitting the observed light curves with th e model.
