Abstract
The 5ESS(R)-2000 Switch project is successfully operating within a dramatic ally changing environment, and communications strategy has played a major r ole in its success. Employee morale has improved, and the emphasis on custo mer-driven initiatives such as "Speed" and "Voice of the Customer" has enha nced the business focus and increased the project alignment. Quality perfor mance and speed are also increasing due to increased communication within a nd among project teams. Results are being achieved by applying a discipline d, multi-dimensional communication strategy designed to provide timely, eff ective, and interactive communication. This approach supports three major o rganizational objectives: community building organizational alignment, and operational effectiveness. To meet these objectives, a variety of strategic communication fools are being used including both push and pull mechanisms . Communication plans that use these strategic tools are being broadened to serve the evolving needs of the Switching and Access Solutions (SAS) organ ization.
