Abstract
In this paper , p-type Fe1-xMnxSi2 (x = 0-0.12) and n-type Fe1-yCoySi2 (y = 0-0.12) were synthesized by means of ceramic technology. The influence of additive amounts of Mn and Co, and heat treatment on the amounts of beta-ph ase formed were studied. Experimental results indicate that addition of Mn and Co could inhibit the amounts and velocity of phase formation. High rela tive density(D-r) of p-type Fe1-xMnxSi2 and n-type Fe1-yCoySi2 causes excel lent corrosion resistance and heat-resistance which are beneficial for manu facture of thermoelectric components.
