Abstract
A novel immune algorithm was proposed by imitating the defending process of an immune system, and with the aid of genetic algorithm, application of th e immune algorithm to the resolution of overlapping chromatograms was inves tigated. The method takes an overlapping chromatogram as its input and iter atively subtract the estimated chromatographic information of every compone nt from the input until the residual does not change. Both simulated and ex perimental data sets were investigated by this method. It was proven that t his method is a convenient tool for the resolution of overlapping chromatog rams.
