New boronoalkoxycalix[4]arenes were synthesized by allylation, alkylation,
hydroboration and hydrolysis of 25,26,27, 28-tetrahydroxycalix[4] arene, an
d identified by elemental analysis, IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, (11) NMR, MS and
UV spectra. The data of UV and fluorescence spectra showed that tetrapropo
xycalix[4]arene triboronic acid could coordinate significantly with monosac
charides.
