Le. Ermakova et al., Electrochemical characteristics of silicon and titanium oxides and titanium-oxygen nanostructures on silica supports, COLL J, 61(6), 1999, pp. 714-718
Electrochemical characteristics of silicon and titanium oxides and titanium
-oxygen nanostructures on silica supports were studied by the potentiometri
c titration and electrokinetic techniques. It was found that the applicatio
n of a single titanium-oxygen layer leads to the shift of the isoelectric p
oint (IEP) toward the alkaline pH region by approximately 1.5 units from th
e pH(IEP) Of the bare support. An increase in the number of the deposited o
xide layers to 6 does not result in further changes in pH(IEP) The pH(IEP)
Of silicon oxide with deposited titanium-oxygen nanostructures differs from
pH(IEP) Of titanium oxide, which is evidence of a mosaic structure of the
surface of the modified samples.
