Nn. Krasikov, Electrokinetic phenomena occurring in liquid-medium dispersions without contact with potential-determining electrodes, COLL J, 61(6), 1999, pp. 797-799
It was experimentally established that high-voltage :electric fields applie
d in a contactless manner to quartz dispersions in polar and nonpolar liqui
ds using electrodes through dielectric interlayers influence the distributi
on of particles of the dispersed phase. The effect was detected by the chan
ges in the optical density of the dispersions. The fields induce a directio
nal transfer of charged particles and polarization phenomena in the bulk of
the liquid, which affect the sedimentation stability of the dispersions.
