Drugs, alcohol and violence

The view that drug and alcohol abuse is associated with violence and aggres sive behaviour enjoys considerable support by a number of older and recent publications, the majority of which look at the effect of alcohol. Recent s tudies on possible aetiological and contributing factors, new approaches an d research issues (difficulties, new directions) are of particular interest for planning more effective preventive and treatment strategies.
