Abstract
Introduction of hydroxyl group on the surface of carbon fiber was attained by the indirect anodic oxidation of carbon fiber with NO3. generated by ano dic oxidation of NO3-. This hydroxyl group was found to have enough chemica l reactivity with electrophiles and the modification of carbon fiber surfac e was attained by using the reactivity of the hydroxyl group.
