Chlamydial abortion in a sheep flock: a case report

Chlamydial abortion or enzootic abortion of ewes (EAE) caused by Chlamydia psittaci was reported in a Large intensively managed Lowland flock in the R epublic of Ireland, Thirty-two ewes aborted their Lambs in the Last week of pregnancy and eight ewes delivered, at full term, either stillborn Lambs o r weak moribund Lambs. The diagnosis of the disease and the use of Long-act ing oxytetracycline to reduce the incidence of abortion were discussed.
