Abstract
A rapid method for the qualitative identification of technical flame retard ants in polymers originating from electronic waste, is described using curi e-point pyrolysis gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection. For a series of samples, the pyrolysis products of the flame retardants were s tudied as a function of the pyrolysis temperature. Identification of the fl ame retardants was achieved on the basis of a comparison with synthetic and pure flame retardant standards. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
