The 0-1 band (4271.3 Angstrom) of the B(2)Sigma(+)-(X1II1/2)-I-2 transition
, the 0-6 band (4275 Angstrom) of the (HII3/2)-I-2-(X2II3/2)-I-2 transition
, the 0-0 band (3776.2 Angstrom) of the B(2)Sigma(+)-(X1II1/2)-I-2 transiti
on, and the 2-0 (3251.3 Angstrom) as well as the 3-0 (3194.2 Angstrom) band
s of the C(2)Sigma(-)-(X1II1/2)-I-2 transition of SbO have been photographe
d at high resolution using the single isotope of antimony Sb-121. An unambi
guous analysis of the rotational structure of all these bands has been carr
ied out for the first time. The magnitude and sign of the Lambda doubling c
onstant p(0) of the (X1II1/2)-I-2 state have been determined and as a resul
t of that, the symmetry of the C state has been uniquely identified as C(2)
Sigma(-). Accurate rotational constants of all the states involved have bee
n determined by a global linear least-squares fit. (C) 2000 Academic Press.
