Abstract
The mitochondrial diseases are uncommon multisystem disorders characte rized by the presence of functionally and/or structurally abnormal mit ochondria. As there have been few reports of the obstetrical care of a ffected patients, we wish to document two pregnancies in a woman with a Chronic Progressive External Ophthalmoplegia (Kearns-Sayre-like synd rome). Both pregnancies were complicated by preterm labor and hyperten sion.
