Abstract
It has recently been shown that crystals of PrBa2Cu3Ox grown by the traveli ng-solvent floating-zone (TSFZ) technique exhibit superconductivity at temp eratures as high as 85 K, whereas flux-grown samples have traditionally bee n insulating. We discuss recent experiments, which reveal an evident parall elism In the pressure dependence of the transition temperature T-c(P) for s uperconducting PrBa2Cu3Ox and YBa2Cu3Ox, thus giving evidence that TSFZ-gro wn PrBa2Cu3Ox may be an ordinary member of the (rare-earth)-Ba2Cu3Ox superc onducting family.
