Spectra of Rb XIII and Sr XIV have been studied in the region from 80 to 11
0 Angstrom by means of a triggered spark and a 3m-grazing incidence spectro
graph equipped with a 3600 lines/mm holographic grating. Sixty-two lines in
Sr XIV and 105 lines in Rb XIII are used to derive energy levels of the gr
ound configuration 3p(6)3d(7) and of the first excited odd parity configura
tion 3p(5)3d(8). A parametric study by means of the chain of Cowan codes st
resses the importance of configuration interactions (C.I.) within the Layze
r complexes (3)(15). Both the effective electrostatic C.I. parameters and t
he full complex treatment lead to a reduction of the large residual deviati
ons noticed in earlier studies of 3p(5)3d(8) configurations of the sequence
Y XV-Mo XVIII. Theoretical transition probabilities are reported for all c
lassified lines.
