Abstract
Material is presented from the analyses of three children who developed obs essional behavior during the course of their analytic work. The author's in tent is to use a careful examination of the emergence of these children's o bsessions to try to understand the unconscious determinants that lead to th e development of obsessive-compulsive behavior as a way to deal with psychi c distress.
