Sk. Samanta, Radiotracer studies on the uptake of strontium by poly(styrene-DVB) resinscontaining iminodiacetic acid groups, RADIOCH ACT, 86(3-4), 1999, pp. 155-159
The uptake of strontium has been studied using two commercially available c
helating resins containing iminodiacetic acid functional groups. The resins
have been characterized with respect to moisture content, swelling behavio
ur, ion exchange and chelating capacities. The effect of pH, sodium and str
ontium concentrations on the uptake of strontium has been determined by car
rying out batch equilibration tests. The suitability of using such a resin
for removal of radiostrontium from radioactive waste solutions has also bee
n tested in laboratory-scale column experiments.
