New multiblock terpoly(ester-ether-amide) thermoplastic elastomers

A new block terpolymer of poly(tetramethylene terephthalate)-block-poly(oxy tetramethylene)block-polydodecanelactam with potential application as elast omers have been obtained by melt polycondensation of alpha,omega-dihydroxyp oly(butylene terephthalate), alpha,omega-dihydroxypoly(oxytetramethylene) ( M-n approximate to 1000) and alpha,omega-dicarboxyoligo(dodecanelactam) (M- n approximate to 2000). The synthesis and some physical and chemical proper ties of this block poly(ester-ether-amide) thermoplastic elastomer is prese nted. A variety of different methods was used to study the phase structure, thermal and relaxational properties.
