It is a matter of a comparison between two relatively young patients affect
ed by a Korsakoff's syndrome after about ten years of alcoholic abuse. For
one of them, besides the disorders of alcoholic origin, disorders due to ce
rebral circulatory problems are found, Besides the visualisation of stroke
by scanner and epileptic symptoms which decrease under medical treatment, t
he complementary tests do not reveal any thing else. The main thing in thes
e two cases is the preservation of the immediate memory, a difficulty for l
earning and a unquestionable tendency for tiredness,
This comparison is interesting because these two patients differ by the det
ails of their hospital follow-up. But in the two cases, numerous and variou
s cognitive stimulations improve the mnesic achievements.
