Abstract
Castilleja chambersii is described from several collections made in the Coa st Range of southwestern Clatsop County, Oregon. The new species is a membe r of subgenus Castilleja and is most closely related to C. parviflora and C . rupicola. This rare species is known from only three small and geographic ally restricted populations. Two new meiotic chromosome counts of n = 12 ar e reported for the new species.
