Aj. Chamkha, Transient hydromagnetic three-dimensional natural convection from an inclined stretching permeable surface, CHEM ENGN J, 76(2), 2000, pp. 159-168
The problem of transient, laminar, three-dimensional natural convection flo
w over an inclined permeable surface in the presence of a magnetic field an
d heat generation or absorption effects is considered. The order of the gov
erning differential equations for this investigation is reduced by using tr
ansient non-similar transformations. The resulting initial-value problem is
solved numerically by an accurate, implicit, finite-difference line by lin
e marching scheme. A parametric study is performed to illustrate the influe
nce of the Prandtl number, Hartmann number, heat generation or absorption c
oefficient, and the surface suction or injection parameter on the velocity
and temperature fields as well as the transient development of the skin-fri
ction coefficients and the Nusselt number. These results are displayed grap
hically to show special aspects of this flow and heat transfer situation. (
