Extended empirical mechanisms of methane and hydrogen oxidation are suggest
ed for simulating promoted combustion reactions in a name. Two promotion me
chanisms are considered: (i) direct injection of promoter radicals in the c
ombustible mixture and (ii) introduction in the mixture of stable species t
hermal decomposition of which produces promoting species. The mechanisms pr
ovide qualitatively correct prediction of the basic peculiarities of the pr
omoting process in a laminar name, and being quite simple, can be recommend
ed for applying them to turbulent names.
