Abstract
An experimental method for determining the second-order coefficient (beta) of the nonlinear conductance of a Gunn diode oscillator is presented. This is obtained in a novel way by utilising the dependence of the device charac teristic on the frequency response characteristic of an injection locked os cillator. beta is found to be bias dependent and the measured values corrob orate the theoretical findings.
