Thin film transmission spectra of liquid tri-n-octylamine were measure
d in the 4000-500 cm(-1) region, in cells of thicknesses ranging from
1 mu m to 14 mu m. From these data, the spectra of both components of
the complex refractive index were determined. Fourty one bands were id
entified and quantitatively described, 9 of which in the CH stretching
vibration region. Integrated intensities were determined. The spectra
l data were compared with related systems and discussed. NIR spectra o
f the liquid are also reported.
