Abstract
We have used a remarkably simple and generally applicable method to determi ne the interaction between vortices and the ground state for both a ladder array of Josephson junctions and a ladder of thin superconducting wires. Ap plying a 'delta-star' transformation we go on to show that much of the phys ics of Kagome' lattices (1D or 2D) should be the same as that of a correspo nding simpler lattice.
