T. Noji et al., Crystal growth by the TSFZ method and superconducting properties of the tetragonal 1-2-3 type cuprates, J L TEMP PH, 117(3-4), 1999, pp. 705-709
Single crystals of Ca0.5La1.25Ba1.25Cu3Oy and NdBaSrCu3Oy with the dimensio
ns of the order of 1x1x0.5 mm(3) have been grown by the travelling-solvent
floating zone method. As-grown single-crystals are tetragonal and non-super
conducting. Through the annealing in oxygen, single crystals of Ca0.5La1.25
Ba1.25Cu3Oy have become superconductors with T-c = 55 - 65 K, keeping the t
etragonal structure. On the other hand, single crystals of NdBaSrCu3Oy have
changed from tetragonal to orthorhombic through the annealing in oxygen, t
hough they have become superconductors with T-c = 55 K.
