Abstract
Solution properties of atactic polypropylene were studied in thermodynamica lly good solvents (toluene, n-butyl chloride and decalin) and in theta solv ents (ethyl-n-butyl ketone, methyl-n-hexyl ketone, 1-nonanol and 2-ethylhex anol). Mark-Houwink-Sakurada relations within the temperature range between 15 degrees C and 60 degrees C, unperturbed dimensions K-theta = 1.62 x 10( -3) at T-theta = 19.7 degrees C in methyl-n-hexyl ketone (the K-theta and T -theta values for ethyl-n-butyl ketone are the same) and the temperature co efficient of unperturbed dimensions d In r(0)(-2)/dT = -2.44x10(-3)K(-1) we re established.
