Jc. Shin et Si. Kwun, Repeated appearance of a torus in the torus-doubling transition into chaosnear the ferroelectric phase transition of KH2PO4 crystal, J KOR PHYS, 35, 1999, pp. S1346-S1349
In an ordinary torus-doubling transition into chaos, the torus generated by
a Hopf bifurcation period doubles into chaos by a finite number of torus d
oublings. A phenomenon which was not revealed in the previous torus-doublin
g transition into chaos near the ferroelectric phase transition of KH2PO4 c
rystal is observed. The crystal, implemented in a simple series RLC circuit
, undergoes an ordinary torus doubling into chaos but subsequently, another
torus emerges which soon develops into a second onset of chaos. This dynam
ical behavior is analogous to the repeated appearance of periodic windows i
n the period doubling of a fixed point occurring in a low-dimensional dynam
ical system.
