Dynamic scaling behaviour of optical transmittance (T)-electric field (E) h
ysteresis loop was studied in a surface stabilized ferroelectric liquid cry
stal (SSFLC). For various values of frequency (f) and amplitude(E) of the a
pplied electric field the hysteresis loop area A was found to show a scalin
g behaviour as A/E-alpha proportional to g(f/E-beta), and in the low freque
ncy regime the scaling was reduced to A proportional to E-0.44 f(0.13).
