Abstract
Rb2HgI4 crystals were prepared by Bridgman method, and their dielectric and phase transitional properties were investigated. The differential thermal analysis (DTA) and dielectric constant measurements revealed existence of a phase transition at 210 K with the dielectric anomaly in the direction par allel to a cleavage plane. Furthermore, ferroelectric-like D-E hysteresis l oop was observed below 210 K in the same direction.
