Abstract
The synthesis and characterization of Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II), Ag(I) , Cd(II) and Hg(II) complexes of isatin-3-oxime (H2OXI) are reported. Eleme ntal analysis, infrared spectroscopy, thermal analysis and X-ray powder dif fraction were used to characterize the complexes. The IR spectral data show that the ligand behaves in a monodentate or a bidentate manner in the diff erent complexes. The compositions of the prepared complexes were Ag(HOXI), Hg(OXI) and M(HOXI)(2) for M=Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II).
