Abstract
Emission characteristics of Voitenko explosion lamps are investigated. Expr essions for the emission energy and efficiency are derived for different pa rameters of the reflected flow. Emission properties of shock waves in the o ptical range (0.2-1 mu m) are considered in the case when shock waves propa gate in rare-gas media with an initial pressure up to several atmospheres. The net efficiency of an explosion-type lamp is optimized in the above-spec ified spectral range as a function of parameters of the active medium and t he shock wave.
