The design of a novel X-band reflective quasioptical amplifier microstrip p
atch away is presented. Polarization diversity was used to maintain input a
nd output isolation below 35 dB. A comparative measurement of the passive a
nd active structures was carried out to characterize the gain and other rel
ated parameters for the evaluation of the active away. An active array was
developed at X-band, with an effective power of 14 dBm and an EIRP of 29 dB
