The Kondo effect of the Anderson impurity in a correlated conduction electr
on system is studied with the slave boson mean-field theory. The interactin
g conduction electrons are described by a Hubbard model with an interaction
of strength U. It is shown that the Kondo temperature T-K decreases with a
n increase of U. Tn the intermediate regime at half-filling, the exponentia
l scale of the Kondo temperature T-K is already lost at the saddle-point le
vel of slave boson formulation.
