Abstract
This paper shows the ability of a domain decomposition method with a Neuman n-Neumann preconditioner to solve industrial and biomechanical problems. Fo r a mid-size biomedical simulation involving soft tissues the results obtai ned by using this algorithm are compared to those obtained by more classica l methods. The present algorithm thus appears to be more reliable than stan dard iterative methods and more efficient than a direct method. Copyright ( C) 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
