Abstract
A complete series of tetraphenyl-alpha,omega-alkanediyldiphosphine dioxides Ph2P(O)(CH2)(n)P(O)Ph-2 (n = 1-10) was synthesized, and their extraction p roperties were studied. 1,5-Bis(diphenylphosphinoyl)pentane showed the high est extraction ability with respect to palladium. A synergistic effect was observed in the extraction of palladium with toluene solutions of 1,5-bis(d iphenylphosphinoyl)pentane in the presence of tributyl phosphate.
