Abstract
We consider the numerical solution to the nonlinear differential equation v " + 1/2 xi v' + 1/2 integral(0)(infinity) v(xi) d xi h(v)' = 0, with bound ary conditions v(0) = 1 and v(infinity) = 0. This problem arises from a mod el for ion transport. An iterative scheme is developed for this problem and convergence is proved. Finally. Sinc methods are used to implement the num erical scheme for this problem and computation of the current response term integral(0)(infinity) v(xi)d xi. (C) 2000 IMACS.
