The complexes cis-PtR(SiHPh2)(PMe2Ph)(2) (R = Me, Et, Pr, Bu) have been fou
nd to undergo two types of C-Si bond formation process. One is a novel reac
tion process via isomerization to cis-PtH(SiRPh2)(PMe2Ph)(2), and the other
is C-Si reductive elimination involving prior displacement of a PMe2Ph lig
and with diphenylacetylene added to the system.
