Abstract
Silyl(stannyl)platinum(II) complexes cis-Pt(SiR3)(SnMe3)(PMe2Ph)(2) (SiR3 = SiMe3, SiMe2Ph, SiMePh2, SiPh3) undergo insertion of phenylacetylene into the Pt-Si or Pt-Sn bond. The site selectivity dramatically varies with sily l ligands under kinetic conditions, while under thermodynamic conditions th e insertion into the Pt-Si bond exclusively takes place irrespective of sil yl ligands.
